    Position Overview:


    We are seeking an experienced and reliable Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team, reporting directly to the Payroll Manager.  In this role you will oversee payroll operations including processing and review of time cards for approximately 80 hourly employees in 3 locations.  In addition, you will be processing Bonus, Commissions and adhoc payments for all employees both in the field and in the office, so multi-state payroll will also be utilized.   As a Payroll Specialist you will be entrusted with sensitive information, will possess great communications skills, and have the skills needed to work in a fast-paced deadline-dictated environment while demonstrating the ability to maximize efficiency and productivity.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Consistently and accurately process payroll for just under 300 Field and Office employees in 3 locations
    • Review and process time cards ensuring State Compliance (work hours/meal breaks etc) for all non-exempt employees working directly with lead managers toward resolution
    • Partner and Communicate with Payroll Manger and HR regarding compliance issues, and changes in employee records
    • Assist the Payroll Manager with 401K and Workers Compensation Audits, data gathering and review
    • Assist employees with questions regarding pay/deductions with the highest level of Customer Service
    • Ensure accuracy in Tax, Garnishments, and Employment Verifications
    • Provide routine and custom reporting to management as needed


    Competencies & Qualifications:

    • To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
    • ADP Workforce Now payroll software, and intermediate level Excel/Word (test to be taken)
    • Ability to prioritize tasks during peak volume times
    • Problem solving and analytical thinking skills
    • Working knowledge of payroll taxes, multi-state experience
    • Team-player with excellent communication skills both written and verbal

    Education and/or Experience:  

    • 2+ years of experience processing payroll
    • High School diploma or equivalent required
