    Position Overview:

    The strategy team acts as an internal consultancy for the company and you will be a key member of this team. Specifically, you will participate in and lead cross-functional strategic projects that have an analytical element. You will have to tackle complex, unstructured problems primarily through using your analytical skills and business acumen, backed up by solid intuition and problem-solving abilities. You should have a strong background in interacting with and understanding data to convert insights into strategic opportunities for the company.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serve as an analytics expert in using data to drive business growth across a complex business model
    • Collaborate across internal business partners to identify and quantify opportunities to inform insights and impact the business
    • Lead strategic projects; projects may be within a business unit, across multiple business units, or involve the creation of a new business venture, such as a new product offering, joint venture, etc.
    • Employ data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities
    • Build partnerships by effectively managing internal and external relationships, such as peers in other units, staff groups, and senior management and outside suppliers, to accomplish organizational goals and to identify opportunities and resolve problems.
    • Help manage a portfolio of strategic projects to ensure appropriate prioritization and resource allocation
    • Effectively resolve conflict, remove roadblocks, and support strategic decision-making
    • Communicate results of initiatives to stakeholders
    • Develop a broad understanding of operational systems and processes in order to provide strategic guidance
    • Make sound decisions in ambiguous or difficult situations, including when under pressure
    • Continuously improve service and results for our people and the business
    • Additional duties as assigned  

    Qualifications

    Required Competencies and Qualifications:

    • Exceptional judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
    • Experience using quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques to create valuable and actionable insights
    • Comfortability with ambiguous problems
    • Ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and comfortable discussing and presenting these concepts to internal business partners and executive-level leaders
    • Strategic mindset with ability to identify opportunities to create positive change
    • Strong capability to manage multiple project streams
    • Demonstrated expertise with, or active interest in, at least one of the following tools: SQL, Tableau, Excel
    • High degree of self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

    Valuable but not Required Competencies and Qualifications:

    • Experience using data-driven insights combined with strong communication and presentation skills to influence decision making
    • Track record of putting strategy into action outside of direct circle of influence
    • Experience working with senior leadership
    • Strong financial and general business acumen with a focus on measurable business impact
    • Familiarity with other tools, programs, and software including:
      • Oracle, R, Python, JMP, Asana, JIRA, G-Suite
    • Proven ability to foster collaboration across an organization, inspire confidence, and motivate groups to collectively meet common objectives

    Education and/or Experience:

    • 2 or more years of professional level experience in a similar role OR extraordinary academic performance with some highly relevant professional experience
    • Demonstrated experience in a position of monitoring, managing, manipulating and drawing insights from data
    • Bachelor’s degree - focuses on a quantitative field such as Statistics, Econometrics, Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information systems, or relevant areas a plus
