As the Database Developer at Precoa, you’ll assess data needs and dive into creating effective solutions. Working with both internal and external stakeholders, your delivery of sustainable architecture, ETL processing, and reporting will lead to actionable insights that improve our business, making it even more effective.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond quickly to urgent issues related to data problems or needs that prevent employees or partners from using our web portal, CRM software, or any systems that connect to Precoa's databases
  • Work daily with the data team in an agile development environment. Attend team meetings, work through development assignments, and report on solution progress regularly
  • Participate with other employees in IT, Strategy and Analytics, Finance and other departments doing database development project work for the company
  • Develop automated, software solutions and determine which of many possible solutions will be most effective or appropriate for Precoa's business needs
  • Participate in the decisions that determine the structure and function of the database and its processes
  • Automating and improving operational processes vital to the business
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Effective communicator
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with ability to develop solutions independently when needed
  • Desire and proven ability to work with challenging technical problems and solutions regarding databases, reporting, and ETL processes
  • Proven ability to develop solutions using Microsoft SQL Server software tools T-SQL, SSMS, SSIS, SSRS
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and database concepts
  • Create, update, and optimize database objects such as stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and tables
  • Trouble shoot and debug code and technical solutions
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognize and manage project tradeoffs while considering factors including time, priority, scope, sustainability, efficiency, simplicity, features, deadlines, urgency, and impact

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or at least 3 years of equivalent experience developing in a relational database environment
  • Sufficient knowledge, skills, and experience in developing database processes to demonstrate competency
  • Practical, working ability developing database solutions that efficiently create or improve systems/processes essential to a business
  • Proven ability with Microsoft's Database Management System (DBMS) including t-SQL, MS SQL Server, SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, Windows OS environment or equivalent technologies on other DBMS platforms
